The NFL Is Coming to Orlando: Jaguars Set for 2027 Season at Camping World Stadium

March 31, 2026

It’s official—and it’s as big as it sounds. The Jacksonville Jaguars are bringing NFL football to Orlando for the 2027 season, with home games set to be played at Camping World Stadium. The decision was finalized this week at the NFL’s annual meetings, where team owners unanimously approved the temporary relocation as Jacksonville begins the final phase of its $1.4 billion stadium renovation. What had long felt like an inevitability is now stamped, sealed, and very real.

The announcement wasn’t just a quiet league formality—it was celebrated locally as a milestone moment years in the making. City leaders, Florida Citrus Sports, and Jaguars ownership all played a role in getting this across the finish line, with Orlando stepping forward as the clear choice thanks to its infrastructure, hospitality, and a strategic incentive package. The Jaguars, led by owner Shad Khan, now get the opportunity to expand their footprint into Central Florida, while Orlando steps onto the NFL stage in a way it never has before.

For one full season, this city won’t just host football—it will live it. With the Jaguars scheduled for 10 home games (including preseason) and the possibility of 7–8 regular-season games landing in Orlando, fans can expect meaningful, high-stakes NFL matchups right in the heart of Central Florida.

A Stadium Ready for the Spotlight

This moment doesn’t happen without the transformation already underway at Camping World Stadium. The venue is in the midst of a $400 million renovation designed to modernize the stadium and elevate it into a premier destination for major sporting events and concerts.

When the Jaguars arrive in 2027, the stadium will feature:

  • Expanded capacity exceeding 65,000 seats
  • All-new seating with improved sightlines and accessibility
  • Wider concourses with more food, beverage, and restroom options
  • Upgraded premium spaces, including suites and club areas
  • A more flexible design capable of hosting large-scale concerts and events

It’s a meaningful shift. This isn’t just a refresh—it’s a repositioning of Camping World Stadium as a modern, NFL-ready venue capable of competing for the biggest events in the country. The timing couldn’t be better, aligning perfectly with Orlando’s opportunity to host a full season of professional football.

It’s also worth noting that the stadium’s naming-rights deal expired in 2024, and a new partner is expected to emerge as part of this next chapter—meaning the building itself could debut a new identity alongside its transformation.

A One-Year Opportunity… or Something Bigger?

There’s no getting around it—this is temporary. The Jaguars will return to Jacksonville once their stadium is complete. But what Orlando does with this moment could have lasting implications.

Orlando is the largest U.S. media market without an NFL team, and it has quietly built the infrastructure needed to support one. A major international airport, a deep inventory of hotels and resorts, a thriving restaurant scene, and a proven ability to host global events all make this a natural fit for something bigger.

For the NFL, this is a real-time test. For Orlando, it’s a chance to show what it can be. Packed stadiums, strong local support, and a seamless game-day experience would reinforce what many already believe—that Orlando isn’t just an event city, but a big-league sports city ready for the next step.

The Jaguars are coming, and with them comes national attention, economic impact, and a level of energy this city hasn’t seen on a weekly basis. It may only be for one season, but moments like this tend to leave a mark.
